RECENT PROJECTS
Knight Dive and Marine Services conduct a wide variety of ocean, canal, river and confined space projects across the Sunshine Coast, South East Queensland and Australia. Our highly trained team complete work including, salvages and recovery, underwater safety inspections, installations, maintenance and repair, dredging, contamination diving and demolition. Some recent projects include work not previously carried out in Australia.
CONTAMINATION DIVING - RIO TINTO
Knight Dive, was employed by major mining company Rio Tinto to conduct a leak detection and a cleaning program in a water reservoir over six weeks. This was the first time in Australia this scope of work had been conducted. The work involved inspecting and cleaning the bottom of the reservoir, in zero visibility to find and repair the leak in the bladder. The project was completed successfully.
SEWERAGE TREATMENT PLANT DIVING
Knight Dive, regularly conduct repair and maintenance works inside sewerage treatment plants for Unity Water and Civil Companies. This scope of works involves the removal of grates and the cleaning of the bottom of the holding tanks. The scope of works is completed in zero visibility contaminated water. Knight Dive has all the equipment and procedures to conduct this type of works safely, securely and to achieve the desired outcome for the client.
EX-HMAS BRISBANE - MAINTENANCE
Knight Dive has been contracted through Queensland Marine Parks for all maintenance of shipwreck/dive site and moorings of the Ex-HMAS Brisbane for the past six years. Knight Dive carry out safety inspections of all the mooring and the entire internal and external structure of the sunken vessel every three months. Scope of work includes updating and replacing mooring blocks, cutting away loose material and dangerous and hazardous objects to divers and conducting structural integrity testing of the ship and any general maintenance on the ship. Knight Dive has also secured the contract for the same scope of works for the Ex-HMAS Tobruk.
TENTERFIELD DAM
Knight Dive, was engaged by Leed Engineering to conduct major construction works of the Dam Wall and pipeline infrastructure for eight weeks in September 2018. The work involved the installation of cofferdams, underwater dredging, installation of new pipes up to 300 mm. The work was conducted in extremely cold conditions, with low visibility with success and no safety issues.
SALVAGES
Knight Dive and Marine Services are regularly called upon by insurance companies and marinas to salvage sunken vessels - from trawlers, commercial vessels, yachts, cars and even a sunken dozer. Vessels have been raised using airbag systems, using towing methods and large 20-tonne excavators, as well as our commercial barge.
NSW DEPARTMENT OF PRIMARY INDUSTRY
After a series of shark attacks along the NSW coastline, Knight Dive and Marine Services were employed by Global Marine Enclosures under contract for the New South Wales Department of Primary Industry. Knight Dive teams installed a trial shark net system and secured moorings in the surf break at Lennox Head Beach.
INSPECTIONS AND DREDGING OF STORM WATER PIPELINES
Knight Dive are regularly contracted by several Engineering companies such as Hall Contracting and Shadforths to inspect and dredge storm water pipelines. This involves the dredging and installation of muni balls in pipelines so the civil companies can conduct works safely.
WATER RESERVOIR INSPECTION AND CLEAN
Knight Dive were engaged by Wide Bay Water and SEQ water to inspect and clean the main water reservoirs throughout SEQ. This scope of works involved the inspection and cleaning of the water reservoirs. Knight Dive have all the equipment and safety procedures to conduct this scope of works.
